THESIS
The United States revolutionized a government-driven westward expansion in the 1800s with the concept of Manifest Destiny. Inevitably, in its fulfillment, the United States routed Mexico in a controversial war of conquest, resolved with a controversial Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, which thus granted the US continental supremacy.
